Congrats are in order...


Update from Commonwealth Games in New Delhi: Today, Friday 10.8.2010, our teammate Lolonde "flash" Gordon was competing in the 4oom meter Semi-finals where he has performed a season and personal best with a time of 46.33. Lolonde has made great strides this season, with competing greatly at C.A.C Games (Central American and Caribbean Games) in Puerto Rico and now in his first Commonwealth Games.

Transitions: Opening round...3rd (47.07)...Semi-Finals...4th (46.33PB)
Next up for Lolonde is the 4x100 meter relay that will begin on Monday 10.11.2010...Good luck and continue stride.

New Season, Same Goal...





Hello everyone of Zenith Velocity? current and new members. Today is the day where one of our own (Lalonde Gordon) has left for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India where will be participating in the individual 200m and the 4x100m relay. Commonwealth Games will be televised from October 7th until October 13th on Universal Sports (check your local listening). I will update the blog on Lalonde's process at the games as the days goes on.

Cross Country Sunday: This pass Sunday at Van Court-land Park M.A.C (Metropolitan Athletic Congress) kicked off their Cross Country season, where some of Zenith Velocity Track members participated in, and were very successful in their runs. I would like to say thank you: Lalonde, Paul (Kim), Ebony, Tashedah, Oraldo, Jalissa, Isiaah and Chris....Times from the meet will be up shortly...Great job also to Jason, who participated in a 5k the previous day.

....I would also like to say welcome Bryan Steele, the newest member to Zenith Velocity

Indoor season is almost here guys, lets prepare to do great things.

Winning attitude




Over the weekend, one of our own Mr. Joshua Louis captured the gold in the 110m hurdles in this past weekends 2010 Empire State Games. Congratulations.


In more good new another fellow teammate, Ali Beauvais has made the finals of the 400m hurdles at the 2010 C.A.C (Central American and Caribbean Games) in MayaGuez, Puerto Rico. Ali will be performing tomorrow in the afternoon for the opportunity to become the 2010 400m hurdles C.A.C Champion. Everyone show your support for Ali.

Rising Star....

This past Thursday, one our own was featured in the local New Jersey papers "The Jersey Journal" as being a premier athlete and also student. Shmad Marshell was interviewed by Michael Cohan and Photographed by Doug Bauman, both of The Jersey Journal in a featured story dubbed "...Hudson County's track star of the future." The story acknowledges his preservation and commitment to the sport, and the image he portrays as being such a unique athlete.


Excerpt from interview, Shmad..."currently ranked third in the region by the AAU in the State in the 800-meter and ranked sixth in the 1500-meter runs for his age group in the sub-youth division."

2010 East Region Championships

Forth of July weekend brought fort many fireworks, but non was brighter that Zenith Velocity capturing our first USATF Regional team championship at Icabod Crane High School in Valatie, NY.


July 4th weekend was a great achievement for the team and athletes who participate for Zenith Velocity. With the great performances by everyone, a championship was won and Zenith Velocity was deemed 2010 USATF East Region Champions. All was deem possible with the performances of Troy Faulkner with his 4 gold medals, 400m, 200m, 4x100m, and sprint medley, and Micheal Brown with 3 gold medals, 800m, 1500m, and sprint medley. There were also key performances from Steve Delice and Ivan Smalls in individual events, Ivan with 1 gold medal in the 1500m race walk and Steve and with 2 silver medals in the 400m hurdles and 400m.


Other key performers: Ali Beauvias (1st. 400m hurdles, 3rd. 400m), Kim Williams (3rd. 100m), Cyrus (1st. 4x100m & 4x400m relays), Josua Louis (3rd. Triple Jump, 2nd. 110m hurdles), CJ (3rd. 200m), Lance Fleming (3rd. 1500m, 1st. Distance Medley), Anthong Campbell (1st. 4x400m & Sprint Medley), Chris Mclean (1st. Distance Medley) and Jason McNeil (1st. 4x400m).



Again Congratulation Zenith Velocity on becoming 2010 USATF East Region Champions.

Jamaican Nationals...25.6.2010-27.6.2010


Over the weekend, one of Zenith Velocity mix of 400m and 800m runners participated at their National Champions for the opportunity to be crown National Champion for his or her individual discipline. In Kingston Jamaica at Jamaica's National Track and Field Stadium, Mr. Edino Steele participated in the individual 400m, and Mr. Micheal Brown participated in the individual 800m. While participating in the 400m discipline Mr. Steele made it to the finals with a season best of 45.78, just tents off his personal best of 45.77 by taking 1st in his heat.
In the Finals of both Mr. Steele and Mr. Browns discipline, Mr. Brown ran a great race with a time of 1:54.38 and took 10th place overall in the 800m. In the finals of the 400m Mr. Steele did not get the opportunity to participate due to a false start that took him out of the race...Mr. Steele stated "I anticipated the gun too early and I made a mistake, but I will be better and ready to capture the title next year, I promise".

While participating in the Jamaican National Championship, both Mr. Brown and Mr. Steele were suited with online sponsor Tri-Sport body suit uniform clothing.
